Jessica DeHart grew up in southwestern Virginia. She attended Roanoke College and graduated with a B.A. in Art, with a concentration in painting and drawing, and a Minor in Art History. After college, Jessica relocated to North Carolina where she worked full-time while still studying and pursuing her art. In 2009, she moved to Mooresville where she soon became a Member of the local arts organization, Mooresville Arts and focused full-time on her painting. 

 

Throughout the years, Jessica became more involved with Mooresville Arts, from coordinating life drawing sessions to chairing exhibits to serving on the Board of Directors. She is now part of the staff, serving as Gallery Director, as well as managing social media and writing grants for the organization.

 

Jessica’s art focuses on painting and drawing, and her preferred subject matter is portraiture; her work has been featured in many exhibits and she has also received national recognition for her work.  

She lives in Mooresville, North Carolina with her partner, Billy and their animals - Toby, Elon & Grayson.
